History of Clareblend
Clareblend traces its history to 1924, when Clare Rosner and her husband, Harold G. Rosner, founded Clare Manufacturing Co., which later became known as Clareblend Inc. Harold Rosner developed equipment for Clare’s electrology work, helping establish an early tradition of practical, treatment-focused machine design.
According to John Fantz in Ask the Instructor, Harold G. Rosner developed the earliest known air desensitizer deviceand later installed an air-cooling system on the company’s eight-needle multiple-needle epilator in the late 1930s. These early developments reflected Clareblend’s longstanding interest in improving both client comfort and machine performance.
After Clare Rosner’s retirement, her daughters, Betty Rosner and Marge Smith, assumed leadership of the company and continued the research and development of Blend, Thermolysis, and multi-needle epilators. As the profession evolved, Clareblend remained part of the transition from tube-based equipment to solid-state technology in the early 1970s, with industry sources crediting Marge Smith with developing the first solid-state Clareblend epilator.
For many years, Clareblend was based in the San Fernando Valley, California, before relocating to Reno, Nevada, in the early 1990s. In 2004, Richard and Nadia Klukovich acquired Clareblend. Richard, an electrical and electronic engineer and former consultant to the company, provided both technical expertise and knowledge of the company’s history to support the ongoing development of Clareblend equipment. Working with electrologists, he helped improve the company’s software and systems to meet modern treatment needs while maintaining the profession’s technical heritage.
Today, Clareblend is based in Reno, Nevada, where it continues its long tradition of designing electrology equipment in collaboration with practicing electrologists.
